Sausage French Toast Roll Ups

Homemade Buttermilk Syrup
We love Homemade Buttermilk Syrup with our French Toast, and this creamy goodness is the perfect addition for this fun breakfast.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown sugar (#1150)
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla (#6919)
- 1 tsp baking soda (#2848)
Instructions
- Combine the brown sugar and buttermilk in a medium-size saucepan over high heat. Whisk or stir to combine and bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat to low or medium-low and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup has thickened.
- Add the butter and stir to melt. Remove from the heat. Add the vanilla and baking soda. Whisk or stir well to combine. Let cool at least 10 minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Sausage French Toast Roll Ups
Ingredients:
- 5 slices soft white bread (#1336), cut in half
- 10 Jones Dairy All Natural Pork Sausage links (#4043), warmed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1-1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or cinnamon #1005)
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- Maple syrup (#1590), for serving
Instructions:
- First, flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin or your hands. Place one warmed sausage link at the
short end. Then, roll the bread around the sausage link. Repeat until all sausage links are rolled in bread slices. - In a small, shallow bowl whisk together milk, egg and pumpkin pie spice (or cinnamon).Â
- Heat up a large skillet over medium heat add butter and melt. When butter is melted quickly dip bread sausage roll-ups in milk mixture and add seam side down in pan. Cook on all sides until golden brown and crispy. Adding more butter to pan if necessary.Â
- Serve warm with maple syrup.
