Instead of using whole slices of bread, try cubing it like you would with stuffing. The easiest way to do this with the cream cheese topping is to spread it on each slice of bread, then cut into cubes. Add to the baking dish, topped with the strawberries, then the egg mixture. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the egg is set.

Instructions:

  1. First, grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Then, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add the french toast sugar, and continue to beat until fully combined.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, eggs, milk, whipping cream and vanilla paste. Set aside.
  4. Now, layer half the bread in the bottom of the pan. Gently spread the half of cream cheese mixture in an even layer over the bread, topping with half of the strawberries. Repeat with the remaining bread, cream cheese mixture, and strawberries.
  5. Next, pour the egg mixture overtop, making sure all the bread gets covered. Cover with Kirkland Premium Quality Foodservice Foil (#1963), and place in the fridge for 30 minutes or overnight.
  6. When you’re ready to cook, place the casserole on the counter while the oven preheats to 350F. Bake for 30 minutes covered, and 30 minutes uncovered, or until golden brown and the egg is set.
  7. Allow to cool before serving. Serve as is, or with Log Cabin Orginal Syrup (#1590).
