Barbacoa Beef Tacos

Ingredients:

Toppings:

  • Red onion
  • Cilantro
  • A quarter of a lime, juiced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425F. This will be for the tortillas.
  2. First, prepare your tortillas. Lightly spray each side of the tortilla with Vegalene Garlic Mist (#1577), and place each tortilla into an oven-safe bowl to form the shape. Place on a baking sheet (#5957) and bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are browned. Then, set aside until ready to use.
  3. To begin on the sauce, combine the spices (cumin through salt) in a bowl. Add the thawed pulled beef, and stir to coat.
  4. Then, heat some avocado oil (#3516) in a pot. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until the onions are translucent.
  5. Next, add apple cider vinegar, chilis, and adobo sauce. Give it a stir, and cook for two minutes before adding the beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  6. Now, add the beef mixture to the sauce and mix thoroughly. Stirring every couple minutes, let the beef heat through, about 10 minutes.
  7. Once the beef is heated through, prepare your tacos by placing the desired amount of beef in the tortilla bowls and top with cilantro, chopped onion, lime juice, and Calavo Guacamole (#1060).
