Instant Pot Apple Sauce

Homemade apple sauce just got easier with this 15-minute Instant Pot Apple Sauce recipe. Enjoy with no added sugar. This is a great way to use the endless supply of apples from your trees. You can also buy scratched up or bruised apples from the store or farmers market that work just as well.

What are the best kind of apples to use?

When making apple sauce, it is best to use fresh apples. You don’t have to worry about how the look since they will turn to mush anyway. We suggest using Fuji, Golden Delicious, McIntosh, or Cortland apples.

What else can I add to apple sauce?

This recipe doesn’t call for any added sugar, but we love sprinkling with our
Cinnamon Vanilla French Toast Sugar (#1536). If you choose to leave the peel in, this can change the color and over time may become a pleasant pink hue. Try adding ginger (#1420), vanilla bean (or paste #6945), cayenne (#1620), cinnamon sticks, orange zest (#1669), or other fruits like mango (#2655), pineapple (#8277), strawberries (#1222), or blueberries (#2030).

Instant Pot Apple Sauce

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Start by coring the apples.
  2. Add the apples, water, and lemon juice to an Instant Pot. Close and seal the pot and set to High Pressure for 4 minutes.
  3. Once the timer ends, set to Cancel/Keep warm to let the pot depressurize. This will take about 10 minutes. Then release the valve and let any additional steam out before taking the lid off.
  4. Now, strain out the peels. You can keep the peels and blend them up, but we prefer to remove them. Blend the remaining apples.
  5. Let cool before placing in storage containers.

This will keep for about 7-10 days stored in the fridge or about 2 months in the freezer.
