Mini Pies for Thanksgiving
Ingredients:
- 1/2 box (8 3/4 cup) Krusteaz Pie Crust Mix (#7209)
- 1 cup ice cold water
- Norpro Nonstick Mini Pie Pans, Set of 4 (#2169)
Filling Ideas:
- Pumpkin- use your favorite Pumpkin Pie Filling recipe!
- Pecan Pie in a Jar (#7975)
- Rich’s Chocolate Dessert Whip (#2281)– if using this for the filling, simply cook the pie crust until golden brown and let cool before adding the filling
- Cornaby’s Fruit Fillings- Strawberry (#2118), Cherry (#2119), Apple (#2303), Raspberry (#2304)
Instructions:
- First, prepare the crust by adding the mix to a bowl. Using a paddle, gradually add water while mixing on low speed for 30 seconds or until dough ball forms. Allow dough to rest for 10 minutes.
- Then, scale the dough and form into 15 balls, reserving a little bit to use to top the pies, if desired. Roll dough balls on lightly floured surface.
- Transfer dough to pie pans, then add desired filling. Use reserved dough to top the pies.
- Next, bake at 425F for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is a light golden brown. Allow to cool 10-15 minutes before transferring to a Crestware Cooling Rack (#1145).
- Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream using Gossners Shelf-Stable Whipping Cream (#1696).
