7 Ways to Dress up Your Coffee
When you know what you like, it can be hard to change it up. But, we’re here to tell you that there’s more to your morning beverage than the same old coffee & cream combo! In honor of National Coffee Day tomorrow, we are sharing 7 delicious ways to dress up your morning coffee.
7 Ways to Dress up Your Coffee
1. Add some Monin Syrup!
‘Tis the season for Pumpkin Spice! For a simple Pumpkin Spice Latte, combine 1 oz Monin Pumpkin Spice Syrup (#1836) with 2 shots espresso in a 16 oz cup. Stir while filling with steamed milk. Sprinkle with Nutmeg. This same variation can be accomplished with any of our 1 L Holiday Monin syrups.
- Caramel Apple Butter Premium Gourmet Syrup (1837)
- Irish Cream Premium Gourmet Syrup (#1838)
- Peppermint Premium Gourmet Syrup (#1839)

2. Keepin’ it Keto!
Bullet Proof Coffee is popular in the Keto world and is made with 1 tsp butter (#1723) or ghee AND 1 tsp Coconut Oil (#8287) or MCT Oil (#1788). You will also need your favorite coffee blend, brewed and ready to go (try our blends #1378 Morning Grind Medium Roast or #1379 Pantry Perk Dark Roast) and #1457 Unsweetened Almond Milk. Simply combine the ingredients in the blender and puree until frothy, about 5-15 seconds. Pour into a coffee mug to serve. Alternatively, you can mix the ingredients straight into a mug and use a milk frother.
3. Warm a Stroopwafel on Top
Treat yourself with a Stroopwafel on top of your morning coffee! Simply top a warm mug of coffee with our soft, toasted waffle wafers filled with gooey caramel, cinnamon, and real bourbon vanilla. Daelmans Caramel Stroopwafel (#1809) are ready to eat and have no artificial colors or flavors. This magical combination will really transform your morning coffee!
4. Use Alternative Sweeteners
Now, don’t confuse this with Artificial Sweeteners. Try sweetening up your coffee with some Honey (#1148) or Vanilla Extract (#6702) without the added calories of sugar. Remember, a little goes a long way, especially for the vanilla! This will take it to a whole new level, and you’ll never want to turn back! Keep in mind, not everyone will like the flavor of honey with their coffee, but it is a healthier alternative to processed sugar- so start out with small amounts.
5. Coconut Milk Thai Iced Coffee
Adding Coconut Milk results in a wonderfully creamy and healthy beverage. Plus, try making a Coconut Milk Thai Iced Coffee! You will need 4 cups brewed coffee, ice cubes, a can of coconut milk, 3 Tbsp Maple Syrup, 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, and 1/4 tsp almond extract (#1081). Place the brewed coffee in the fridge to chill. Add the coconut milk to a saucepan until it boils, then reduce to a simmer. Add the syrup and whisk for about 30 minutes, or until it reduces to half. Now, add the cardamom powder and almond extract. Remove from heat and let cool, refrigerate for at least one hour. To assemble, divide the coffee into 4 glasses and whisk the mixture
together once more before pouring over the coffee.
6. Spice it up!
If you love black coffee, adding spices is a great way to expand your horizons. It does change the bitterness you love about black coffee, but instead brings out more delicious flavors. Try adding spices like cinnamon (#1005), nutmeg, ginger (#1420), cardamom, cocoa nibs (not chocolate!), or even lavender to give your favorite coffee blends some extra oomph. Just be careful not to overdo it, as some of these spices have very strong flavor profiles. Now, don’t feel limited to the spices we have listed above- this list goes on and on for what works well with coffee. Plus, it’s all about personal preference! We encourage you to test out difference spices and see which you like best in your morning beverage.
7. Ice Cream
Okay, so maybe not the healthiest addition- but it sure is good! Adding ice cream to our coffee kind of reminds us of a grown-up version of a childhood favorite, Root Beer Floats. Plus, it’s a great way to cool down that piping hot cup! Simply add one scoop of ice cream into a bowl or mug, and top with 1/2 cup hot coffee. Serve immediately. If desired, stir the two together to slightly melt the ice cream.
*For a beverage extra fit for cold weather, try adding a scoop of your favorite Hot Cocoa Mix. View our selection here.
