Grilled BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza
We’ll take any excuse to celebrate with food, so for National Pizza Party Day we’ll be having a pizza night with DeIorio’s Pizza Dough Ball (#2377). This dough is great for a full-sized pizza, but can also be cut into smaller portions for individual pizza pies.
Rather than a classic cheese or pepperoni, we wanted to do something a little more “gourmet” to really get in the celebrating mood. Enjoy grilled pizza topped with tender roasted pork mixed with a legendary BBQ sauce, sliced red onion, gooey cheese, and red pepper flakes. Whether you have leftover pulled pork to use up or a bag of Double L Ranch Meats Smoke Craft Pulled Pork W/BBQ Sauce (#2108) in your freezer, pulled pork pizza is a great solution!
Additional toppings:
Make it feel even more gourmet by stacking on more toppings.
- Sliced jalapeno
- Dole Tropical Gold Pineapple Chunks (#3002) or Simplot Flame-Roasted Pineapple & Pepper Blend (#2411)
- Fresh parsley, SupHerb Farms Fresh Frozen Chopped Cilantro (#1921), or SupHerb Farms Fresh Frozen Green Onion (#1864)
- Kirkland Bacon Crumbles (#1241)
- Sliced tomatoes
Calling all Pizza Lovers!
Grilled pizza topped with tender roasted pork mixed with a legendary BBQ sauce, sliced red onion, gooey cheese, and red pepper flakes.
Grilled BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 DeIorio’s Pizza Dough Ball (#2377), thawed overnight
- 1 cup Double L Ranch Meats Smoke Craft Pulled Pork W/BBQ Sauce (#2108)
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups Monterey Jack Cheese or Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- Red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- First, preheat grill to high- about 400F.
- Then, using flour or corn meal, flatten dough down to make an even disk shape. Using both hands, press a crust edge in place. Continue to flatten dough down without disturbing the crust edge. Dough may now be stretched by holding on upturned hands and working it in a circular motion. Do not overstretch.
- Now, transfer to grill, close the lid, and cook for two minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from grill, and flip so browned side is up.
- Next, add the toppings. If desired, first spread BBQ or pizza sauce starting at the center and working towards the edge. Then, top with the pulled pork, cheese, red onion, and rep pepper flakes. *At this point, add any additional toppings.
- Then, slide the pizza back onto the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the pork is heated and dough is cooked through.
- Remove from the grill and transfer to a Crestware Flexible Cutting Mat (#3840). Let cool slightly before cutting into slices. Enjoy!
