Oregon Chai Bread

Oregon Chai Bread

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. First, combine yeast, sugar, and water. Set aside to let the yeast dissolve.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the salt, lemon extract, water, chai concentrate, butter, and herbs. Then, stir in the yeast mixture.
  3. Now, slowly add the flour until you can’t add any more. Place the dough on a floured surface and let rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Then, knead until smooth and divide the dough into 2 loaves. Set into 2 bread pans sprayed with Bak-Klene (#5564). Allow to rise for 45 minutes.
  5. Next, bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before removing from the pan and setting on a cooling wrack (#1145).
  6. If desired, mix together 1 egg + 1/2 tsp oil and brush on top of the bread. Enjoy!
