Crunchy Thai Quinoa Salad

What are the benefits of Quinoa?

So, what’s all this hype over quinoa? Not only is it gluten-free, but it is also high in protein and is one of the only plant foods to contains all nine essential amino acids! Because of this, it has better protein than most grains. Quinoa also has a high fiber content, although most of it is insoluble. These are just a few of the many benefits of quinoa, but the best thing is- it is easy to incorporate into your diet!

Are there different types of Quinoa?

We bet you won’t believe this! There are over 120 varieties of quinoa, but the most well-known are white, red, and black. There are many other colors and variety of quinoa, but our Organic Quinoa is a blend of these three, resulting in a mild, nutty flavor.

  • First, White Quinoa is most common and has the most delicate taste and texture. It cooks fluffier than the other colors.
  • Moving on, red quinoa is a little bit chewier. This type of quinoa is most often found in cold salads since it holds its shape better.
  • Next, black quinoa has an earthy flavor, with a slightly sweet undertone. The texture is also a bit more firm than the other two colors.
