Classic Chicken Noodle Soup
Ingredients:
- 11 cups chicken broth (#1040 base)
- 2 AP Bay Leaves (#1753)
- 1/2 bag Reames Frozen Homestyle Egg Noodles (#1407)
- 1/2 tsp AP Thyme (#1444)
- 2 cups Flav-R-Pac Chopped Onion (#5772)
- 2 cups carrots, shredded
- 1/2 cup Turkey Brand Flour (#2285)
- 2 cups heavy cream or half and half
- 2 tsp AP Parsley Flakes (#1426)
- 1 tsp AP Table Grind Black Pepper (#1029)
- 2 cups celery, chopped
- 8 Tbsp Kirkland Salted Sweet Cream Butter (#1723)
- 1 lb. Foster Farms Chicken Breast Grilled Strips (#9210)
Instructions:
- First, add the chicken broth and bay leaves to a pot and bring to a boil.
- Then, add the noodles and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Now, add the herbs, onions, celery, and carrots to the pot and keep simmering for 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- In a skillet, melt the butter. And the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside
- To the pot, add the cream and bring back to a simmer. Then, add the flour mixture and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Next, add the chicken and remove the bay leaves. Stir, and keep on simmer until heated through. Enjoy!
