Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Kirkland Butter (#1723)
- 3 Tbsp Ghirardelli Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (#6282)
- 2 cups ADM Milling Co. All-Purpose Flour (#2196)
- 2 cups C & H Granulated Sugar (#1632)
- 1 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Soda (#2848)
- 1/2 tsp Regal Fine Sea Salt (#1146)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp Blue Cattle Truck Mexican Vanilla (#6702)
Frosting:
- 6 Tbsp milk
- 3 Tbsp Ghirardelli Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (#6282)
- 1/2 cup Kirkland Butter (#)
- 3 3/4 cup C & H Powdered Sugar (#1151)
Instructions:
- First, preheat oven to 350F and grease a Crestware Cookie Sheet (#4020).
- Next, add the water, butter, and cocoa to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Then, in another bowl, combine the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla. Stir the two mixtures together.
- Once the cocoa mixture begins to boil, remove it from the heat and add to the other mixture, mixing until there are no lumps.
- Then, pour the batter into the cookie sheet and spread evenly. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, start on the frosting by adding the milk, cocoa, and butter to a saucepan and bringing it to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar until there are no lumps.
- Pour icing over the hot cake and spread evenly. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
